You can add sources to your project’s Library in several ways:

• Drag and drop: Drag files from your computer and drop them into the Library panel
• Upload button: Click the upload button in the Library to pick files from your computer
• Import a draft: Bring in a Word document (.docx) or an Overleaf project and keep writing it in Skriptr
• Capture web pages: Save a URL as a source. The page is captured with its citation metadata so you can search and cite it. The Skriptr Web Clipper browser extension does the same for pages and PDFs as you browse

Supported file types include PDFs, Word documents (DOCX), Markdown, plain text, images (PNG, JPG, GIF, WebP), and audio (MP3, WAV, AAC, and more). Audio is transcribed automatically on paid plans. Once added, sources are processed so you can search them, cite them, and reference them throughout your project.

Skriptr’s AI helps you research, draft, and revise:

• AI Agent panel: A research and writing assistant that searches your Library, runs academic paper searches, asks clarifying questions, and edits your document directly. Every edit arrives as a tracked change you accept or undo, and citations come from sources in your own Library.
• Inline AI: Select any text and use quick actions like fix grammar, make shorter, or simplify. You can also write your own prompt for a tailored rewrite.
• Learning companion: Source-grounded tutoring on your own, or external material. Ask the agent to quiz you, build flashcards, create a visualization, or simply guide you through a topic.
• Writing quality: Ask the agent for a quick readability check on a passage, or a full review with feedback on argument, structure, evidence and citations, style, and consistency. You can also try our free Slop Score checker on any text.

Note: AI-generated content may contain errors. Always review and verify AI outputs before using them in your work.

Skriptr exports to three formats:

• PDF: High-quality PDF compiled via LaTeX, suitable for academic and professional submission
• DOCX: Microsoft Word format, ready for further editing in Word or other word processors
• Markdown: Plain .md, useful for the web or static site generators

Open your document and click Export (the download icon) in the document’s side panel, then pick a format. You can preview the PDF before you download it and attach appendix PDFs to the end. All exports keep your citations and reference list intact.

Yes! Skriptr supports real-time collaboration on projects:

• Email invites: Invite a specific person directly from Settings → Share
• Invite links: Generate a shareable link with a pre-selected role for easy onboarding
• Roles: An Admin manages content and collaborators, an Editor edits content, and a Viewer has read-only access. The project creator is the Owner and has full control over the project.
• Real-time editing: Multiple people can edit the same document at once. Changes sync live, and you can see other users’ cursors as they work.
